Hello, I have three payhones - Nortel Millenium, Elcotel WS1231 and Protel 7800. Two phones with VFD and one with LCD(Protel). I was able to program two of them with some tricks...

Firstly, Nortel Millenium. It is a very sophisticated and the most advanced payphone and it is working great with ATA adapter(GrandStream HT802), UBS/SERIAL adapter and USR5630 Modem. However, it is difficult to understand "how" adjust VFD lower message as well as rates table files. I am still trying to solve issue with SmartCard warning module. It does not work. mm_manager is a great software and even In case of mm_manager become unavailable, Phone still function. If you get " * out of service * "message - just open and close the phone or go to menu.

Secondary, Elcotel payphone. This one i love the most as it has nice software to program it(PNM 2.2) and programming not that diffcicult. However, programming thru my PBX requires two 1microF capacitors connected in between lines. I program it with Windows 98 and HISLAND 2400 extenal modem.

Thirdly, Protel... the most difficult to deal with payphone. I tried many different modems and I was unable to pass "downloading block 3" message in XpressNet 1.55 software. I tried dial in and dial out - the result is the same. Now I am wating for Protel Modem. I hope this resolves my issues.

The last two phones are really oddy ones. Those are not very common(as they have displays). Moreover, nobody knows how to put message on display on Protel payphone.
