Hello, I recently received my grandfather's payphone that he got when he worked at Western Electric. This was always sitting in my grandparent's basement for years and when my grandma passed, I asked about it and was still in my grandparent's house and was given to me.

Does anyone know how to get a key for this?  I don't hear any change jingling around but I would like to take a look inside.  Thanks!

It looks like that phone may have been refurbished for home use.  Have you tried using a small screwdriver in the locks to see if they have been disabled?  The lower keys on the coin box are unique to each phone, but the 10G key will fit many of the WE upper locks.  You can find 10G keys on Ebay.  The locks are nearly impossible to pick.

If you search this forum, you can find some of the techniques people have used to get into these phones.

Yes it was connected to their home phone line for a long time.  I'll have to try the screwdriver and see if that works.  Thank you.
