Hello, It's been a few yrs. since I've asked about this phone, it's been on a back burner. I need a mouthpiece for the Couch transmitter. Also because of the way it's attached and the other holes in the wood I'm wondering if it had a different setup before the Couch was attached. Would it have had a long arm type set-up? Most of the images of phones with a long transmitter the base that screws to the wood is vertical, the old holes in mine would seem to indicate it was a horizontal base.
Don't want to spend money on a mouthpiece if I should change the Couch transmitter. I would like the phone to look the way it did when made. The phone does not work and I'm not interested now to have it work. I did find another magneto and hooked it up so the bells ring when cranked but now that isn't working, but that's for another time. Thanks for the help. Tom

Some moreand better pictures would help to identify it. Look for any stamped markings such as a model number. Obviously that does not belong on there but if we get a model we can find out what it was equipped with originally. I think Couch has different threads, I have a couple of Couch intercoms and I could not find mouth pieces to fit.

Thank you Harry. We got this phone a few years ago, the case was coming apart and it was a real mess. I restored the case and while doing that I searched all over it for any sign of a maker but don't recall finding anything. I'm going to take it off the wall and go over it again to see if I missed anything. As I said in my original post I have not seen any phones with long arm transmitter with a horizontal base, the original holes position seems to indicate that type base. I would love to get the proper type of transmitter so that it looks correct.I will post what I find in my search. Thanks so much for the help. Tom

After looking at the mounting again I think it may have been a Blake type transmitter. Let us know if you find anything to help identify it.

Thanks Harry, I tried posting more images but it keeps telling me they are too big. I don't know how to make them small. Should I start another post? I looked up Blake transmitters and they all were a wooden box attached to the case, I can't imagine that was on this phone, there's no evidence of something that large having been on it and with just two screw.

In Winows you can easily resize with a right click. I use percentage and make it 80% of original.
I may be wrong about the Blake.

We don't have windows. We have a Chromebook and it's a pain to resize images. My wife is going to try some things and maybe we can get this to work. I wonder if I can send more images in a Private Message?

This is the transmitter you are looking for.

Google search for Chromebook

And, to send an image(s), in a Private Message, they have to first be uploaded, attached, in a post on the Forum.

tom.adams1, Thank you so much for sending that image. I found an image online of one similar, the only one I've ever seen but couldn't shrink it down to post it, don't have to now. Am I wrong in assuming that faceplate and mouthpiece are going to be hard to find? It figures we would get a phone that is not your more common Western Electric etc. phone with parts readily available!!! Any help in putting me in the right direction to get one will be appreciated. Thanks again.
TelePlay, I'm going to try what you suggest to shrink photos, thanks.
Just for the heck of it I tried to post the image I couldn't post the other day before I posted this reply and it worked! This one looks similar to the Couch&Seeley #43.

You are not wrong in assuming that.

The size limit for attaching images to a post or reply is 3,000 KBytes (3 MBytes). Resizing a 4,032 x 3,024 pixels image to 3,000 pixels on the largest side of the image (say 3,000 x 2,000 pixels) is usually enough of a reduction to get an image file size under 3,000 KBytes.

And, posting a small image, something with a file size of 600 KBytes, does not have the resolution to see small, fine details.

I suggest you join these Facebook sites and post the photo showing the transmitter you need asking if anyone has one. You should be able to find one. The photo you posted is a European model.
