Like the title says, Looking to purchase a WE 405A cold cathode tube used in a 306G telephone.
Thank you any help in finding one. ;)

Edit: attached a PDF file that shows the tube in question.
it's marked in yellow on the Bakelite plug end of tube 405A

Here's a image from the PDF so one doesn't have to download it to see what I'm looking for.
Thank you again for any help in finding one. ;)

Stephen, the link provided takes me to a search of posts so I'm unsure what that's about.
I don't know a lot about the functions of the cold cathode tubes only that they were needed
in the operation of a phone on a party line and I assume it may have something to do with HOW
it rings. That's really all I know, that and the phone I have is missing this particular tube.

If one wants to know more I would certainly ask poplar1 or go to Pual's website http://www.paul-f.com/index.html it's very informative.

For me, that link takes me to a reply posted by unbeldi explaining the use of a tube and a 306 wiring diagram showing the tube in the phone circuit.

Thanks RD so your not needing the tube to make a 306G phone work rather just to make it as original as possible?

Yes and no, It won't work with the tube on any line NOWADAYS without modification and it wouldn't work back then without the tube on a party line AS INTENDED.
Now I could put another tube other then the 405A in it like the 425A tube possibly but, then it wouldn't be ORIGINAL. There lies the problem for me.

I get it, its nice to keep it an all original, and as display piece it does not matter if the tube actually functions, but you should get the correct tube I'll keep a eye out.
So your not trying to make the phone ring using the tube right?

RDPipes

No sir, just trying to put it back the way it was then.
And thank you for your help sir.  ;)
