Search the forum for many references to the popular Grillo folding telephone.

As it happened, during the 1970s and 1980s importers to the US marketed the same phone under other names.

Here are some references using one of the more popular names, "Fold-A-Fone."

Here are a few "Fold-A-Fones" that are NOT Grillos.

Does this Princess-like Fold-A-Fone have a light in it as the early Western Electric Princess® telephones have?

Thank you.
I'd take an educated guess but am unqualified.
In paramediclass, doctor asked me signs of Alzheimers.  "I forget.", I answered.

Lighted Princess® telephones are our favorites!

To ensure an emergent transport call, I need only:
- take first sip of beer when eating pizza
- start shampooing in the shower
- pull bed covers over and get warm and cozy
- begin my OCD oil change.  (Remove oil plug to drain overnight.)

And yet NONE of them seem to fold, LOL!
Although I'm sure there name came from the first phone they manufactured that did fold.

It's been a while since I had one, but I don't recall a light.

Similar models were private-labeled by others including Radio Shack. It's interesting that they apparently changed the supplier and name over the years.

Lights weren't mentioned in the catalogs.

Surprised that those Princess-like telephones do not have a light as the real WE Princess® telephones have.
The Princess telephones are very useful in our dark house. On the dark powder room toilet tank, and dark water closet toilet tank they are nice nightlights.
