I'm looking for anyone in Canada with a Fortec Profile 2000 phone booth for sale?

If anyone has one or a lead on one, please let me know.

Thanks.

Is this the type you want? I doubt many would know what you are looking for by model number without a visual help.

That's the one (although that one is sold). I looked at that listing before but in their feedback every booth shipped was either badly damaged because they didn't package it properly - or concealed damage in the listing with fancy camera angles.

Was looking for a seller in Canada specifically because it cost 5x more to ship it across the border (especially when you factor in exchange rates) than to ship one domestically.

Have you considered buying a brand new one from the manufacturer? They still make them.

With the amount of payphones in use these days how are they still in business selling these?

That's a very old-school website that looks as if it hasn't been updated since the late '90s or early 2000s; in fact, the guestbook form says at the bottom "Last modified: Thu Feb 6 09:22:14 1997". Hard to tell they're actually still in business without trying to call or email them.

I sent them an email. If no reply, I'll try calling.

Yes, 1997 was the last update but someone's paying for that domain for 25 years?

Hah! WHOIS shows they paid for a 30 year domain term in 3/1996. Expires 3/2027.

Doubt I'll get an email reply. BTW, this company was located in Milwaukee. Right now there are several unrelated to phone stuff businesses in Milwaukee which turn up in a Google search.

And, I haven't seen one of those enclosures, or even a payphone, in years.

So, hope you find one.

I doubt they are still around. These booths are still around in my corner of the world. There was one on the side of an old beach-side restaurant near me that had a long abandoned millennium in it that I looked at getting but without keys there was no way to get the phone out of it to subsequently remove the booth. Unfortunately the building has since burned down and took the booth and Payphone with it.  :(

I'll just have to keep looking for one

If you look at that address in Google maps street view, it shows an empty lot, as of 2023. Going back to 2007 shows a couple of building on the site, but neither was Fortec at that time.
