Please review the overview for FOTM before nominating a phone'.
This helps keep the contest fair and consistent for everyone.
______________________________________________________________________________________________-

Post your "Find of the Month" here.

A "Find of the Month" is a telephone or a related item that you acquired during the month that you are particularly excited about either because of its rarity, the difficulty you had in trying to find it for your collection or the exceptional "deal" that you got on it. Other than that, any discussion of or comments about the nominated phone are not allowed, FOTM nominations only. As stated below, "Ideally your item would be (first) posted in its own thread elsewhere on the forum" and if so, "the forum link if discussed in another topic" is to be included in the nomination reply.

If a significant discussion of a nominated phone starts in a FOTM topic, it will be moved to a new "discussion" topic in the appropriate board and if not, then simply removed.

The "Find of the Month" contest is focused on the collection of telephones rather than on their sale for a profit. To be eligible for the "Find of the Month" contest:

- The finder must have personally acquired and actually own the item.
- The item can be acquired for free but it can not be a gift or present from anyone.
- The item (or any of its components) cannot be put up for sale during the contest period.
- Only one "Find" per owner can be in a "Find of the Month" contest.

A Nomination Shall Include:

1) where and/or how the item was found.
2) the price & shipping cost.
3) the forum link to the topic discussing the find.
4) the eBay link if won there.
5) other information of importance about the find (why the item is very important to you for any reason).
6) and one or two pictures of the item.

Ideally your item would be posted in its own thread elsewhere on the forum such as "Auction Talk", "Flea Market/Yard Sale Finds" or "Collectors Corner" Board. Then you or anyone else can nominate your "Find" to the Current "Find of the Month" thread by posting at least one picture and other details including the price paid, any shipping costs and a link to the original discussion on the forum. It is not a requirement that your find be posted elsewhere on the forum but the more details the better.

Nominations of phones listed in other forum discussion topics, by members that do not own the item but realize it is indeed a "find" worthy of being nominated as a "Find of the Month" candidate, are always welcome.

Please pick your best "Find" to submit for the month limiting your entry to one phone or one "Find" that might include limited multiple items. If you have already entered for the month and come up with something even better either submit your new find indicating that it replaces your previous entry OR you can enter your new Find in next months contest.

I got a Mix & Genest wall phone 1934, it seems to be extremely rare, I have not been able to even find a photo of such wall phone on internet.
I got it just by luck, it was this add, but it took pretty long time to com in contact with the seller: https://www.finn.no/bap/forsale/ad.html?finnkode=266643907  I could pick it up on my way to a meeting so my cost was only NOK 250 (=$25).  After adjusting the dial speed it was working perfect, even with the original transmitter capsule.
I am so extremely happy with how well it works that it ended on our kitchen wall. :)

The dial is quite unike too, but you may read more details here: http://www.classicrotaryphones.com/forum/index.php?topic=26679.

Suggestion: If it is less than 4 here, just move them to next the month. :)   or rename the thread to November 2022 ;)

Historically, no phone nominations, no contest; one nomination, it wins; 2 or more phones, a poll is set up to determine the winner.

Impossible to know if another phone will be nominated in November so the possibility of having to move it to December, or January, would exist.

The "rules" use a month as the distinct time period to define the contest's eligible phones.

At this point, I think it would just be easier to end the Find of the Month contests this year due to lack of interest and/or the real possibility that "find" level phones are no longer out there in quantities that would support a monthly contest, everything that existed in the finite universe of old phones to be "found" has been found. Except for Brimfield, the sources of "find" level phones worldwide may have finally and permanently dried up.

My chances to visit Brimfield are scarce, so I'll have to take what I can get.
I'll throw in my Petsch & Zwietusch M.03. Asked price was 30 €uro picked up, I offered 45 € (44.80 $ US) delivered and won the phone. Is that a find or is it not? The ad appeared in September, but I had the phone not before October, 4 so I guess it will qualify. Let the games begin  ;)

I will nominate for your consideration please my latest Candlestick find, a Stromberg Carlson 'Oilcan'.

Nice bevelled edge transmitter, Pat. 1894 receiver. Good Nickel 'Chicago' faceplate. Internally intact. Although not perfect, this stick a hard find in the EU.

Price in USD equates to approximately $145.

I'll nominate my 500 A/B purchased on ebay($52.28 all in) that despite going through at least several refurbishments, still contains the original 1950 dated 425A network, 311A equalizer, C2A ringer & 7-50 base marking.

A last minute halloween entry.

My GPO Silver Jubilee Queen Elizabeth II Phone  got it from a thrift store I help out and they save me phones.  This was in a big box of phone parts.  I gave them a good donation like i always do for saving stuff for me.  Never would have thought I would ahve found a GPO phone here in Michigan let alone one as cool as this.
