What is the best way to polish a clear finger wheel that has scratches on it?

It's the same as taking scratches out of plastic housings.

Minor scratches can be removed with multiple applications of Novus 3, then Novus 2.

If it's minor scratching, I start with Novus 2.

I've found that applying Novus 2 on a small cotton cloth patch backed by a cotton ball wet with 75% isopropyl alcohol and 25% acetone increases the power of Novus 2 to remove fine scratches.

I don't use the alcohol/acetone mixture with the last two applications of Novus 2.

In all cases, I remove the Novus using an orbital polisher with a cotton cloth bonnet.

I use a wool or cotton Dremel buffing wheel (on low Dremel speed) to polish the inside of the number card area and finger holes (the back side).

Now, for deep scratches in the number card window area, you may have to wet sand them out first starting with 400 to 800 grit paper depending on the scratch depth and work your way up to 1,000 or 2,000 grit before moving on to the Novus polishes.

Thank You: Novus 2 worked great at taking out the scratches.
