Dear Friends,
I was offered for sale for $330  the attached WE 50AL dial black candlestick. The seller emphasized the unusual party line dial #132E that made it more valuable. I was trying to determine the appropriate value. The paint looked adequate and as far as I know is the original . I did review Sarge's tutorial on dials but could not find one on finger stops. I cant make out any markings on the finger stop but there are and I am waiting for an answer on it.
Any comments?
Thanks,
Bob Farber

There is a marking on that fingerstop. It's on the side just above the two screws.

I can't tell if the dial plate is notchless or not. There would be a notch cut into it where the fingerstop is located. If it is notchless, it's worth more. One solid round disk with no cut-out is good.

An unrestored 50-Al or 51-AL dial candlestick in good condition without a subset usually goes anywhere from $175-$250.  A rare dial would make it go for more.  I paid $200 for my 51-AL with 2AE dial exactly one year ago, and I considered it a bargain.  I think $300 would be reasonable, with $330 a little on the high side.

Without the subset.  Subset adds $50-$75.  Working adds another $75-100+?  2AEs are uncommon but not rare  They retail for about $50 more than a 2AB in similar condition.
