Hello all.A friend dropped off a bag of candlestick parts. I have assembled the parts.Parts that came with it are as follows 143AW receiver dated 1913,323BW transmitter 2 wire dated 1913, Brass perch marked 151AL marked through with a line other side marked 152AB, dial is a 6A with 5 contacts marked left to right in pic marks are W,BB,R,BK&Y.The base and stem are brass base date marked Jan 26 15,Jan 1 18 and Sept 21 20. Receiver cord is ok the cord from phone is a 3 conductor R,G,Y and cord is good.It goes to a north electric subset. Question is do I need a 3,4,or5 conductor cord for this to work. The hook switch has 4 terminals on it all the ones I have seen only have 3 terminals.Need help wiring this thing. Wiring diagrams I find are all over the place 3 4 or 5 conductors nothing tells me the correct cord. I know I don't have the 2 terminal board on the sides of dial holder legs I'll work around that I just can't figure it out any and all help will be appreciated thanks Scott

The 151AL requires a 4-conductor cord to the subset, and 5 conductors from the base of the phone to the rack (switchhook terminals) and transmitter.

152AB and 151AL are wired the same, but the 152AB has a head receiver rather than a 143, 144, or 706A receiver. It appears that someone converted the 152AB back to a 151AL.

The receiver requiaes only 2-conductor cord, but will work with the one you have by taping and storing the "extra" conductor.

I believe there are diagrams here on the forum. If you don't have the subset, you can use a WE 634A, 634BA, 684A, 684BA, 495A sibset, or the base from a WE 302.

Note: The black conductor in the Desk Stand Cord goes directly from BK in the subset (or GND on a 302 base) to BK on the dial. There is no "Y-BK" terminal in a dial 151AL.

Is there a date stamped on the back of the transmitter cup?

Hello Mr. Poplar got a question about the dial it's a 6A from 1955 it has 5 contacts do I need to jumper two contacts if so which ones they are marked W,BB,R,BK & Y. The two small terminal blocks are missing do you know where to find them.  Thanks Scott

Strap the BB and R terminals together for a 6A, 5H, 4H, or 2H dial. The original 4-terminal dial was a 2A. Adding the strap makes your dial electrically equivalent to  the 2A shown in the diagrams.

Thank you Mr.Poplar for the info now have to find a terminal block that will fit into the base.Original blocks are expensive

The R-GN block was also used in the 51-AL. The other one is RR-B, but only the B terminal is used.
