Thank you Tom for those photos.
I also have the same 8 station candlestick. The perch on mine is also stamped 20AT, with the 302W transmitter. I never thought to compare it with my 20-T unit. Sadly it is missing the label plate for the base, but otherwise complete and in working order along with working buttons. (I'll probably never find another label plate)
The inside of the transmitter is exactly the same as yours, with the same exact element. One thing I noticed is that the two spring clip ears on my 20AT were also milled off very clean from the faceplate, as it appears yours were too. That's a very interesting comparison to my 269W faceplate. The big difference being the inside element.
If I could just find another transmitter element like these, and dismiss the curved posts part, I think I could have a complete 20T unit.
Here's a pic of my 20AT.

Ken, the clear designation plate looks very simple to replicate sir just a little patience is all it needs.
Just get yourself some 3/16" or thinner Plexiglass at a hardware store and cut it to shape then drill
it for the screws (if you feel it won't line up properly after forming wait to drill the rest of the holes till after you bend and just drill the first two to help hold it straight while bending). I would attach one side and heat it with a heat gun slowly and with one gloved hand push it down when it starts to get a little soft to shape it to the base, quit heating and let cool while holding it in place and your done. I've personally done this a couple times when shaping/bending plexiglass for different applications you just have to make sure not to get it too hot. Just enough to form and bend and it wont leave marks from handling.

Quote from: Witty on June 11, 2023, 09:14:20 PMIt's a beautiful phone and I was hoping to get it back together in working order but I doubt I'll ever find the right transmitter element that was in it.

I assume you mean as an Interphone Desk Set which would require an Interphone controller and other components to achieve working order.

Or do you mean a complete, as built 20T desk set?

Looking at your hook switch it seems to be missing at least one set of contacts needed to operate as a POTS candlestick, with a subset.

I want the 20T back to a complete unit itself with all the right parts. From what I've read the 20T with the 269W transmitter is an intercomunication phone, so I realize it needs more to actually be a working phone, just as candlestick phones need a subset to work properly.

Ron, I'll try the plexiglass approach and see what i can do. The label will be a little more difficult I think since it's much longer for 8 buttons.
I'll let you know and post some pics if I'm lucky.
Thanks!

BTW...going to go watch the Nuggets playoff game. A win tonight and they win the NBA championship. Big deal around here tonight!

Sounds good Ken and maybe you can get someone that has the same phone with a designation card to scan it for you
so you can replace it too. Wish I had one for ya but, alas I have no sticks anymore nor ever had one like that.
Best wishes on getting it done sir.

Ken here is a larger photo of the base, might help in duplicating one. Tom

Thanks for all the help and the pics! It helps a lot.
I'll start working on that label right away and post some photos.
