Greetings:

I am restoring a 1962 WE 233G (IV) payphone.  The Upper Housing lock (10H) seems to be frozen in this position.  Does anyone know how to move the mechanism to align it with the bottom arrow?

I have a good 10H key that will only fit when the key opening aligns with the bottom notch.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Jack

HI and welcome to the forum. I just use a small pocket screwdriver to turn the outer cover back to the correct position. I have had it happen to me a few times.

If the key way is really frozen in that position there is only one thing you can do. Stand the lock up so that the bolt is facing up. Slam the bolt with a heavy hammer. That will drive the bolt down and PROBABLY move the jetway to the at rest position. That lock was abused. That's the reason it's in the condition it's in.
