I'm wondering if a QBA3A Backboard for wall mounting a Centurion pay phone is realistically obtainable.

Is my only option the usual way of obtaining such things, that is, trolling Facebook Marketplace and Ebay, etc. and hope something eventually pops up? How rare are these things? Does anyone supply these as NOS?

Before I had my Centurion I figured I would just use some lag bolts, into a firmly mounted piece of 3/4" plywood. However, now I know there is a proper mounting plate for it...

Probably a good start would be to contact a fellow Canuck, Joel Eves, a.k.a., "Mr. Northern Electric Supply!" If he doesn't have it he probably would know who does.

It also may be worthwhile to contact a payphone supply house or to give Don Woodbury a call to see if he has one stashed in the backroom.

I'm not certain but I wouldn't be surprised if a standard single-slot coin phone backboard would also have the holes drilled in the correct place and also be capable of mounting a Centurion set.

When I got my 3-slot payphone, I looked at the prices for "official" or repro backboards and decided I could make my own.

3/4" MDF painted black around the edges and some T-nuts from Lowes. Took me less than a day (excluding drying time for the paint). You may or may not be as handy as I am, but I'm not a cabinetmaker, and it was simply a matter of placing the phone on the sheet of MDF and tracing around it with a Sharpie. A hand held jigsaw and a bit of sandpaper, and I had the raw backboard done. Saved myself $100 because I had everything but the bolts and T-nuts.

I forgot to mention that payphoneinstaller (Jim Engle) is another fellow collector who probably has a warehouse full of backboards.

Thanks everybody for the replies, much appreciated.

Although, I  *might* be in luck! I reached out to the person I bought the phone from, and explained what I was looking for. Apparently the family recently sold the house the phone was installed in. However, she said she'd talk to the family and see if it anyone knew who took it off the wall and if there was a mounting plate with. Turns out there was, and somebody else had put it in a different pile. She is coming into the City Saturday and says she will bring it over! So finger crossed, but I just might end up with the original.

But again, thank you for the leads, I'll definitely keep them in mind if/when I need other supplies. I might need them to get this thing working again (see my recent other post).
