Just moved into a new apartment and although it's painted over, looks to me like this is a Couch.

Any thoughts / sources for parts? I'm going to tackle it's restoration as a summer project. The building has modernized it's intercom system so this will just be for decoration but seems a shame to be a few coats deep, as it is now!

Hi. Welcome to the the forum. You have found the best forum on the net. That is a cool find. After cleaning it up it would be really neat to locate another one to match and hook up your own intercom system.
Keep us posted on the restoration.

Nice find. It will be interesting to see what's under the paint.

Might someone else in the building have units that were already removed or want help removing theirs?

I haven't come across many of that model in New England (where they were made). About a decade ago, I grabbed these snapshots of several that had been removed from service. I have also seen them in black.

If no one here responds with parts, you might try phone shows and the collector club email groups and Facebook pages.

Of course, there are also on-line auctions.

This one sold on eBay on 2/17/2025 -- $59 + shipping

Great idea Paul. Probably other people in the building who have no idea what it is and would be happy to get rid of it.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll report back once I get it off the wall, and then reach out to some of my neighbors to see what state the others are in!

Very nice, welcome to the forum.
Is that a 6 wire door intercom system?
If you have access to the old controller I wonder if you could fire it back up?
If you have a friend in the building you possibly configure it as a two way intercom.

HarrySmith

You also might ask the building superintendent if the rest of the system is still in the  building.
