Just listed on a 10 day auction with no reserve, and no chance of selling as is . . .

Really looks like a phone for sale but at that price?

It looks like the seller corrected the images.

And the price.

Puzzling how a seller would put up a listing with only the description being correct, wrong photos and price.

That D1 is now listed at

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1940s-LIGHT-GREEN-Western-Electric-Model-202-Bakalite-CRADLE-TELEPHONE-MINTY-/132005593601

starting at $9.99, a relist from an auction starting at $235 that did not sell.

Just a very strange way of introducing an item on eBay . . .

Shipping to me is $70 so pass on this:

An other interesting item from the same seller:

Yes, I saw that and captured the screen because of the price and title. The seller had since lowered the price to $69.99

Seems like a strange way to sell on eBay, wrong everything initially and then correct it later. And how can something that old be sold as NEW?

That is a  "coded"  fire alarm Station, It would b e connected to a "Mccullough loop". When activated it sends 3 rounds of telegraph-type signals to identify the box location. They are typically powered with a wound spring.

The Continental had already been listed 5 days before (Nov. 16). Ebay won't let you create a new listing without a photo. My guess is that he didn't have the right photo available, so he used one that was already on his hard drive, along with a ridiculous price so that no one would be tempted to bid until he posted the correct photo.
