Item description said expedited shipping and that was what I thought I was paying for. Seller sent item by Parcel Select ground (slowest cheapest way) and was 5 days before he sent the item.  Item arrived safely and was as described.

I would ask the seller to refund you the difference in shipping.....Doug

Is "Parcel Select Ground" the same as "Parcel Select"?
In some cases, "parcel select" actually costs more than "priority mail" for the same package:

Create and print a USPS shipping label on eBay and use your PayPal account to pay.

Compare shipping rates

Calculated services (to 83646) 11 Lbs. 0 oz.
Cost

Priority Mail® (1-3 days) - Package/Thick Envelope
$37.40

Parcel Select® (2-9 days) - Package/Thick Envelope
$38.56

(This is for an Ebay label).
What zone or zip code was it shipped from? How much did it weigh?

Whatever it's called the seller clearly did not "expedite" the shipment.  A listing which specifies expedited shipping should provide just that.  There's nothing wrong with using parcel post and shipping only one day each week provided it's disclosed to bidders.

Tom   ...    I'd do as Doug has suggested.      Ask for a shipping refund in the amount which reflects the difference between the two shipping classifications, and, tell him or her, that their decision in the matter will be reflected in the feedback you leave.

There are two issues here. Waiting 5 days to ship refers to the "handling time." The handling time should be indicated on the listing:

      Delivery:
Estimated between Fri. Mar. 3 and Wed. Mar. 8
Includes 5 business days handling time after receipt of cleared payment.

If the seller misses this deadline (set by the seller), then he will be dinged in his monthly evaluation:

     Late shipment rate
     0.00%0 of 470 transactions

    Above Standard
0.00%
Top Rated 3.00% or less
Transaction period: Mar 01, 2016 - Feb 28, 2017

If you ship on time and upload validated tracking or your buyers tell us the shipment was on time when they leave feedback, you're all set.

"Expedited" shipping refers to the method of shipping, not the time between payment and shipping.

When I was at the post office the other day the clerk told me it was now call parcel select ground. I'm not sure if he was correct.

Thanks for the suggestions on asking for a partial refund.
