I won this on ebay for a $10 offer and 10.23 Shipping. Don't ask why, I thought it was cool and I would give it a shot. Four hours later the paint is mostly off and most of the rust is gone. There are still some corrosion marks. Dummy handset for pics

Any idea where I can find a retainer for the bottom blank.

Still a lot more to do, good news is there was a PERFECT handset cord on this mess. Transmitter was crushed as was the transmitter cup, but the brass plate is fine.

I always loved the design of these.  Not up to what I would keep as a naked phone....I see paint in the future...Doug

I like those phones.  Is that a Bower–Barff finish on the metal?

Doug Rose

Unfortunately no....I sure wish it was as this would look perfect.....I can't paint.....well....Doug

It looks pretty good in the buff!

Since it did polish up well and I do not paint, I will keep it as is. It is a toughie to find and I do not want to ruin it.

You could spray it with clear coat, keep the metal looking nice no rusting or other oxidizing.
