Post your "Find of the Month" for March 2014 here.

A "Find of the Month" is an item that you acquired within the last month or so that you are particulatly excited about either because of its rarity, the difficulty you had in trying to find one for your collection or the exceptional "deal" you got on it etc.

Please pick your best "Find" to submit for the month limiting your entries to one Phone item OR One "Find" that might include multiple items. If you have already entered for the month and come up with something even better either submit your new find indicating that it replaces your previous entry OR you can enter your new Find for next months contest.

TelePlay has grabbed pictures of all of the "Find of the Month" winners since we started this back in 2010 and he has put them into albums on PhotoBucket. Thanks John.

I am going to nominate Dave Becks FREE AE 50 for Find of the Month. He has done a lot of work to it since he got it as it was BLACK when he got it but he has done a nice job.

I got 2 x-German field telephones today. Both made in 1940, re-furbed by the Norwegian army in the 70-ies.
The re-furb will say painted up and replacement of transmitter and receiver capsules.  They have been used, but are in good shape. The German labels are removed, and a Norwegian/NATO  phonetic alphabet has replaced the German one.
The makers are Mende, and R&B

Both telephones has the German eagle atop swastika. And of-course good working condition.

I have really had some difficulties to tell about if this or the US EE8 are the best, and I tend to go for the German FF33, but I am absolutely not sure.

I got it from a friend for free.

I would like to nominate my new Ericsson m33, which I'm waiting to receive at home in a few weeks :) which cost 65€ including shipping (about $89.50 US).

Matilo Telephones

Wow, looks to be in very good condition. M33 is a Spanish designation? Was it made in Spain? Or was it made in Sweden?

Yes Matilo! It's almost NOS!

I have just read on internet that this model was named M33, but maybe is not true. I hope you can teach me more about Ericsson ;)

dsk

When it comes, it should be made a special thread, this are a nice phone, but it was made in many countries with several different circuits and miner differences in the mold. From the picture I can not tell the difference from the Elektrisk Bureau version: http://tinyurl.com/q8fvd2t

Oh man, don't get me started. I love this model. And it is very interesting how its design was used, adapted and influenced many designs over the whole world. I collect different versions of this model.

See here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ericsson_DBH_1001_telephone

Although I think DBH 1001 is not the correct name to begin with. If I am informed correctly that designates only one particular version of this design. If it had a different plug, ringer or longer cord, it would have had another model number. I myself prefer the generic name Ericsson type 1931 for the whole family.

I'd be very interested to learn more of this phone, when you get it. But as Dag said, that would call for a new thread on this forum. I'm afraid we are plummeting off topic here.
