Yes, it is the earlier 1900 version - a great find.

I had to replace it with a complete one, as the one on there was just a faceplate with modern transmitter. It said "TRI-STATE TEL & TEL CO." and "1333047C" The new one is blank.

Thanks for that. Tri-State was established an an independent but I can't remember when. I think the telephone is older than Tri-State so that transmitter was probably not original either.

You might eventually find contemporary SC parts for the telephone but even without them, it is a very nice phone.
